The Wyssen compass was developed especially for use in mountainous area and, because of their steep sightings possible, are used chiefly in the constructions of cableways, power lines etc. The instrument is ideal for levelling and allows measuring horizontal and vertical angles, and bearings. It has the following features:
- High-precision compass, with fluid-damped dial, as per type MK-2001
- Two sighting scales according to description of MC-1004
- Circular level
- Sighting slit above the magnifying prism, and a sighting line opposite (for steep sightings with simultaneous compass readings)
- Revolving base 3/8“ threaded to fix it on our tripod.
